Thomson makes a divot on the front nine at Mandalay

Renowned Australian golfing legend, Peter Thomson, is set to tee off on his latest first class 18-hole golf course in Beveridge, which will soon form the centre-piece of northern Melbourne’s latest residential development.
The first to take a swing from what will become the front nine holes of the Thomson Perrett designed golf course at ‘Mandalay’, Mr Thomson says he is excited at the prospect of delivering residential golf to Beveridge.
Located off the Hume Highway, north of Craigieburn, the Mandalay Golf Course has been designed as a key feature of the 2000-plus allotment community which will eventually be home to more than 6000 people.
With construction now underway on the front nine, Mr Thomson was inspecting the site last week and said works were continuing to schedule, ensuring the timely delivery of golf to the community as it establishes.
“ The first two holes are already under construction and will take some time to grow in as we continue works on the third and forth holes with fairways, aprons and bunkers all under works.”
Mr Thomson has been associated with creating cutting edge golf courses across Australia for many years with partner Ross Perrett, including The Sandhurst Club’s Champions Course, the National Golf Course in Cape Schanck, Moonah Links in Rye, among many others.
Thomson Perrett’s experience in designing golf courses within residential land estates ensures the Mandalay golf course integrates well with homesites, providing maximum views and course aspects while retaining privacy for future home owners.
