Mandalay celebrates another milestone

An exciting milestone is drawing closer at the Shire of Mitchell’s newest residential address ‘Mandalay at Beveridge’, with construction on the first new homes now underway, and the estate’s first residents not far behind.

Slabs are being poured on home-sites in stage one while housing frames are rising by the day, seeing this once bare landscape begin to transform into a fashionable new community.

The picturesque 2000-home site development, located just 40 minutes north of Melbourne’s CBD on the Hume Hwy, has also seen works commence on one of the many planned park reserves, as the estate’s grassed areas and parks are set to represent a staggering 40 percent of the total master-plan.

Among some of the first residents to begin building their dream home is James and Lindsay Wilson, who say the estate’s affordable price point and array of facilities and amenity on offer, had them from the outset.

“ We are most excited at the prospect of looking out over the golf course greens while enjoying a coffee in ‘Club Mandalay’s’ café, as well as being able to take advantage of the gym and other on-site sporting facilities.

“ The idea of living among a golf course reminded us of being on a resort holiday, but instead at Mandalay we will have the privilege of experiencing a luxury holiday environment every day.

“ My parents were so impressed when we took them for a tour around our future neighbourhood, they have now bought land in stage three,” Mr Wilson said.  

The couple said they were initially looking at residential communities within Craigieburn and Wallan, when they discovered ‘Mandalay at Beveridge’ and never looked back.

“ We’d heard a lot about Craigieburn so we had been comparing estates around that area, but then we drove past Mandalay and thought it wouldn’t hurt to take a better look and we were blown away.

“ Mandalay is just five minutes up the road from Craigieburn but the value for money was second to none,” Mr Wilson said.

The recently married couple, expecting their first child this year, said the generous combined State and Federal Government grants acted as another incentive to secure their dream site at Mandalay.

“ The regional government grants we were entitled to, meant that we were able to realise our dream of buying our own home much sooner than we thought possible in overcrowded areas like Craigieburn.

“ The added savings of buying land within a regional address gave us even more reason to choose Mandalay as the perfect place to start our family.”

Buyers eager to purchase land within the impressive ‘Mandalay at Beveridge’ development can rest easy as they are still eligible to benefit from substantial Government grants, with up to $22,500 still on offer for new regional homes.

Mandalay currently has a variety of home-sites available starting at an affordable $141,500 and ranging from 471sqm to 788sqm, which include a limited number of the estate’s prized golf-fronting home sites.
