Mandalay takes shape as first residents welcomed
August 2010
The Shire of Mitchell’s most talked about residential community, ‘Mandalay at Beveridge’, is taking shape at a rapid pace with construction continuing on both the subdivision and the picturesque golf course.
Earthworks and civil construction are now complete across stages one and two, while homes begin to dot the landscape and the first residents settle into their new surrounds.
Titles across stage three are expected by the end of October, ensuring Mandalay will welcome dozens more new residents in the Autumn months, as the estate transforms into a flourishing suburban neighbourhood.
Mandalay’s acclaimed Thomson Perrett-designed golf course remains on track to open by the end of 2012, along with the state-of-the-art ‘Club Mandalay’, featuring a wealth of facilities including a gymnasium, swimming pool, bistro, pro-shop, café and much more.
The 2000-allotment estate also includes plans for a commercial precinct, primary school and neighbourhood centre to help the community thrive for years to come.
The fibre-to-the-premises network powered by OptiComm was officially switched on earlier this year, allowing Mandalay’s first residents the ability to browse super high-speed internet of up to 100mbps, as well as enjoy faster connectivity to digital television and phone and fax lines.
Mandalay’s Development Manager, Rod Binedell said construction had been hampered by recent weather events but concerted efforts were now underway to makeup for lost time.
“ Construction has been hampered due to the uncharacteristically rainy winter months, but a concerted effort from the construction teams in recent weeks has meant that Mandalay is still on track to welcome more residents in coming months.”
“ Once complete, Mandalay will boast a number of parks and landscaped areas, an 18-hole golf course and abundant neighbourhood facilities. We look forward to delivering these facilities and more to the future residents”
“ We have already completed a children’s playground for our first residents and with work set to begin on many more landscaped areas in the months to come, Mandalay will continue to take shape at a cracking pace,” Mr Binedell said.
